This is such a load of BS as further in the story it says her husband is a USC which means her children would be USC even if the laws were changed, so I have to ask, what exactly is the point of this article?

So they know "Laura" is an illegal but they are not arresting and deporting her?

An illegal in her native country would probably not be sitting brashly with reporters and requesting citizenship.

She says in the article that her husband is an American citizen, I assume he is the Father of this child. Under the law the child has the right to American citizenship because the Father is an American.

I don't believe that people should be rewarded for breaking the law by handing out American citizenship as a housewarming gift.

So it is penalizing her unborn/newborn by denying them citizenship? What about making the child a citizen of the mother's homeland or is that considered to be a penalty?

However, I have no problem with a newborn being made a citizen of our country if at least one parent is a citizen.

It was a Fox affiliate attempt to put a human face to the new bills. The FOX reporter mistakenly made it sound like the unborn child would not be a citizen because the mother is an illegal. The father is a citizen so that is not the case.

The Child[when born here] has that RIGHT now...why wait for a law?

The 14th amendment to the US Consitution-

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside...

My point is that even if that law were repealed (I think it should be by the way) this child would be an American citizen because the Father is an American. Please don't misunderstand, I don't support illegal immigration nor do I think this law is in the best interest of our country. I believe it encourages people to break our laws.

currently there is no law on the books stating that a child born to one American citizen parent is an American citizen; so why would there be a need to repeal it?

When I said repeal, I meant the law stating that any child born in the US has a right to American citizenship.
