If the US were serious about Border Security it would employ Landmines. Just run a campaign of PSA's in Mexico and the US for a few months and then set landmines and barbed wire fo a "No Man's Land".
Actually it would be the most cost effective and safe method for large areas that are unmanned.

The coyotes and drug runners dont play nice. Time to match 'em up with gun toting US Border Patrol, etc. Off a few gun using illegals and many wont try to cross anymore.

The Drug smugglers are carrying Military issue guns and we arm the Border Patrol with bean bag guns???
Bean Bags are suitable for crowd control at riots and unruly protesters, not Heavily armed drug runners and other criminals that are armed.
I would hate to go up against someone shooting actual bullets when you're shooting bean bags.

If drug smugglers have fire arms, it is because an American/s are providing them. Not because they are from the military. Its no secret. An agent just confessed that he received directive from his supervisors to allow hundreds of fire arms to cross into Mexico.

If thats the case then those Americans should be held accountable and the US needs to BETTER arm our agents to be able to match and exceed enemy fire power.
