Whoever thought this one up is dumber than dumb. Not surprisingly word of these visas are spreading among the illegals and more "victims" are coming forward.

Some say it's unfair to those who wait abroad for years for visas.
Defence lawyers say some applicants are defrauding the system by taking cases to court they otherwise wouldn't in the hope of getting a visa.

'Getting status in the United States is such a big deal that it really can create an incentive, sometimes just to exaggerate, and sometimes to flat out fabricate,' says Stephanie Wargo, a San Francisco lawyer who handled a sexual assault case in which the complaining witness was applying for a U visa.

'I don't know the solution, but it is a problem.'

Here's another ..........

Beckett is now helping the rest of the family members obtain their U-Visas. He said family members of crime victims such as unmarried siblings, parents and spouses also qualify for the U-Visa.
I understand that the kid in question was a legitimate victim and eligible for the U-visa as he and his slain brother were attacked, but why are all his family members also???????????

It's BS. I don't care if he's a victim it's not a reason to be given amnesty. There are illegals out there accusing innocent people of crimes for the USA. The program needs to be cutoff.

Valencia took out a restraining order against McCain after the incident, but McCain says his boyfriend relented and allowed him to stay overnight several times over the next three weeks. "We were spending time together and trying to reconcile," he says. Then, suddenly, Valencia told McCain he never wanted to see him again.

McCain didn't find out until months later what he believes is the reason for his sudden rejection. Assistant District Attorney Brian Bringardner revealed in an e-mail to McCain's public defender a month before the trial in the summer of 2009 that Valencia "has been told about the option of getting a U visa. I don't know if he has actually applied for one."

Good question - but also this is the silliest reason to want to be here. Their relative was a crime victim here, victim of gang violence so they all want to come? That makes no sense. If normal people are victims of crime in some foreign country, they want to get home.

Now all the immigration lawyers have to explain is that if someone punched you here in the USA, it's a U visa, if someone punched you back home it's asylum.

crime victims can apply for a U visa even after they've been officially told they're being deported

'It's their last-ditch Hail Mary pass to avoid being sent home,' she said.
Victims can get legal status for their spouses and children, even those living in another country
. Victims under 21 can sponsor their parents and unmarried siblings under 18. In cases of murder or manslaughter, spouses and children can apply as 'indirect victims,' even if they didn't witness the crime.
If no proof of being victim is required, why even bother with an application? Just give them Amnesty

FTA comments section;

"Why don’t we just stop all the wasted time, money and paperwork and cut to the chase. Just move the US border down to South America—hell, move it down to include South America. Then we don’t need to spend any more time on this. It has already been decided that the US will no longer exist as an independent English-speaking country. We spend millions providing "spanish immersion classes" but no "English immersion classes". Closing the border has been a joke for years. Why don’t we just stop pretending. - Sharon, Dallas, Tx, USA, 19/3/2011 21:41"

Totally agree!
