Where was the racism? Is that the only card you have to play? You can't really explain why with such high unemployment rates we should be bringing in millions of cheap foreign workers who cannot afford the high cost of living here?
And how is it not racist to insist that there is some superior race of hard workers who happily work the slave-type jobs for very little pay? In fact most of the open borders type sound just like the slave masters of the past, insisting we need to bring in hordes of people to do the menial labor kinds of jobs.
That's the true racism, but suggesting Americans will and do work hard is not, pointing out that Americans are suffering with lack of jobs is not racism. But it might be racism to insist we need some special type of servants and peons.

Who knew that without Illegal Immigrants there would be ZERO unemployment! No one would be in Prison! Illegal drugs would cease to exist. No more CRIME, no MORE Gangs, No more traffic Jams, no more $5 gas, no more mid east wars, no more budget deficits, no more credit crises, no more housing bubbles or bursts, no more corportate bail outs, no more racism, no more socialism, no more facisim, no more homeless, no more poverty, no more nothing.. everything will be GRAND! Oh please, do point out the racist diatribe. You aren't new to this forum so why would you make the claim that any of us has said that all foreigners here are illegals? You would also know that the costs vs and so-called benefits are higher from the links provided.

Yes. And often it's terrible conditions in the workplace more than anything else that have Americans avoiding working for the employer.
The employers accustomed to bringing in semi-trailers of desperate illegals are often horrendous bosses. It's going to take them some time to understand that with American workers, you can't motivate them by threatening to call la migra on them.
People will work for low wages but expect relatively safe and good working conditions. Americans even in low wage jobs don't like being treated like peons just to kick around. It might take a little investment to bring the working conditions up to par so that employees want to work for you.
