I asked this already with no answer, but... What percentage of illegals are able to get government assistance like welfare?
Why don't you do your own homework?
The truth is that all you need to collect welfare here is to give birth. Why should an illegal be entitled to collect anything from the American public? If someone breaks the law they shouldn't be allowed to have a baby, get it declared an American citizen and collect food stamps or seek public housing on behalf of that baby. We're actively encouraging people who can't support their children in their own countries to come here and have children at American expense. That's just stupid.
If you are violating our immigration laws you are not entitled to get benefits as a result of that decision. Less than half of all illegals have even a high school diploma. Most are poorly educated hispanics. If they were really net economic contributors I sincerely doubt Latin American leaders would let them leave. Instead they send their underclass here. Logically it makes no sense to ask Americans to support Latin America's excess population.
That's not postulating. That's an assertion of facts. They are a net drag on the economy. They need to go home and be a net drag there instead of here.
Your first paragraph is just a rehash of everything that you've already said, and somewhat humorous in that you complain that they are uneducated and yet complain when programs exist to help them become educated. Also, you haven't proven anything. You're still claiming a net drag but admit you don't have any actual numbers. This is not how you make an argument.

I'm not the one who is making a claim that illegals are costing us more than they bring in, so the burden of proof is not on me. It's on you and others who make it.

I would just add that there have been many viable stats posted in here and just common sense would tell you that they are a net drain on our economy regardless of any contributions they may make. I guess the pro-illegals just want to ignore their social costs that we the taypayer have to cover for them. What about the jobs they are holding that Americans should have? If an American were doing those jobs instead they in turn would also be paying those same income taxes, sales taxes, etc. and contributing to our economy. So what do we need illegals for?
Most of the Midwest is not Kansas. The Great Lakes states tend to be fairly progressive, with the exception of Indiana. Not on every issue, of course, but overall.
You have ND, SD, KS, NE, MN, IA, MO, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH
The bold states I would say are progressive, the green ones kind of are, and the rest aren't.
How is it legal for a state to have a dream act? Isn't that federal? When states try to do something about illegals the DOJ files suit, saying it's their jurisdiction.

Iowa has gay marriage. It's not as conservative as people think. Otherwise, I generally agree... and that goes with what I said. The area around the Great Lakes is more progressive than the rest of the Midwest.
