SignOnSanDiego.com > News > Mexico -- Allowing Mexican trucks delayed

After labor day mexican trucks will be allowed into the US, I assume without visa or the like. I wonder is this another job that Americans "wont do" (not true). What is the reason for this besides allowing more illegals in while stating that they want to secure the border. Funny how little press this has gotten.

Oh I am sure none will be anything other than "hard workers". Americans need to start asking to allow illegals in from other countries to do an honest job in government since we know that is really a job Americans (lawmakers) dont want to do!

You assume wrong regarding the "without visa or the like". No one is knowingly allowed to pass through one of our border checkpoints without proper authorization. The reason for it all is to make trucking a bit cheaper for everyone - not to have to unload the Mexican trucks and then load onto an American truck (and vice versa). American truckers also win the right to operate in Mexico. This of course means more work for American truckers!

The only real concern seemed to be the condition of Mexican trucks as far as safety goes and it seems that issue is being properly addressed.

This is one plan that really does make sense.

Focusing on the yet unmet recommendations, American industry leaders had just assumed that the additional demands would block DOT from giving approval to the Mexican trucks to proceed.

But the fine print of the Aug. 6 report signals the unmet recommendations were just that, recommendations, not requirements.

If American truckers would benefit why you do think the Teamsters and all the websites for truckers have filed in court to block this action? We are going to have uninspected trucks rolling down our roads. From what I read American truckers have not also won the right to operate in Mexico. This is one more step towards the North American Union.

Do you think these Mexican trucks are going to run back to Mexico unloaded or are they going to take loads that American truckers need to stay in business. Bush is intent on giving all our jobs to foreign workers and this needs to be stopped!

Default also

I know that American trucks cannot deliver between mexico cities, but does the same hold true for mexican trucks here? Seems like we are again opening our borders to lower costs here so US companies can use them to deliver cheaper within the US and also use substandard trucks and drivers. What type of license does a mexican need to have and also will they be held accountable for say a dwi here? More Americans out of work. They only said that American trucks can come in to make this look fair.

Crime and safety are just two of the major concerns with this. This is bad policy and it's a setup for the new Chinese port being built down there. The Chinese are already flooding our western ports with defective and dangerous goods, this allows easier access to our Midwestern markets. Plus the Mexicans can pack these uninspected trucks with illegals. It's a win win situation for everyone but the American people.

Unfortunately George, the Secretary of the Department has waved all
requirements in a letter that was sent to all of the Ports, Highway Patrol,
Sheriff's departments, etc. Well worth the read.

Look for more deaths at the hands of illegals, on the US highways....

These are filthy, diesel spewing vehicles, wonder what all the Greenies will say about further polluting the environment. Or will it be okay, since these are the sacred illegals?? Once again, conflict of agendas?

Yep, Hose's secretlypregnant wife can ride along as a helper. Get her up to Canada and drop her off on scheduled 'due date', goods delivered, on time.
