Your definition of doing something is amnesty for them, free college tuition for their kids and welfare access at every turn as they cannot afford to live here without it. Legal immigrants most certainly have the right to complain when those who skip the lines and acccepted procedures demand things from them. Native born Americans have every right to join them.

Over 60 percent of Americans prefer a solution with a citizenship path whether with or without further enforcement. Under 40% prefer an enforcement only approach. Note that a large minority would be sufficient to defeat an enforcement only proposal.

That article also points out that less than 40% support a constitutional change for birth right citizenship. That would need well more than a majority to ever happen.
