Republican leaders in Congress have reacted to Obama’s announcement with caution.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who had initially declined to comment, weighed in Monday to criticize the unilateral nature of Obama’s move — but not the policy itself.
Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, canceled a Monday press conference on the issue.
GOP reels after deft Obama move - TheHill.com

They are all falling in line with Romney and Rubio's views on this issue. They are running scared.

Where do you get the idea that Romney is in line with Rubio's views on this issue? Romney merely said he would review Rubio's proposal.

No, I think that the GOP counts Obama's latest fiasco as a win-win for them. They know for sure they will have the unemployed American's vote now. The GOP never had the majority Hispanic vote anyways. This changes nothing.

I don't think anyone but Obama is running scared. Yes the illegals are gleefully dancing in the streets but they're not the brightest bulbs -- they haven't figured out yet that there aren't 800,000 nice good paying jobs waiting for them.

Can we at least deport the ones who can't find a job within a couple of weeks?

And this has taken the wind out of the illegals and their movement. Now they can shut up -- they got their big amnesty, no one has to promise them anything more. However it seems like it was a desperate move by Obama, there is no American who is dumb enough not to realize it was a selling out of American unemployed just to try to pick up some votes. Everyone knows it was about votes -- and as far as the votes of the illegal, Obama already had their votes.

Uh; lots can happen between now and November. Obama IS in some serious trouble and this back door amnesty might be the final straw for his reelection plans.

There's nothing "deft" about handing out job permits to law breaking foreigners in the middle of a recession. The only people happy are the hispanics (who constitute less than 10% of the electorate) and the illegals who can't vote.

A stupid move by a desperate panderer to a sincerely selfish racist group of people who truly believe that their self interest should be the only thing that matters to everyone else. And I write that as a Dem who has defended Obama many times . . .

Romney was asked yesterday about this EO and he was counting on Rubio's plan, when asked if he would repeal Obama's decision, he skirted the question.

God people...this was not done by Executive Order so quit with the lack of claiming its something that it isn't. It is but a policy memorandum in DHS. It would be wise if us anti-illegals accept what Obama has claimed as his, it is better than what Rubio offered. Obama's policy doesn't grant any legality whatsoever (they must apply for Discretion and then they have to apply for a work permit), Rubio's plan was to grant legality with the ability to change status and work under one deal.

I, for one, think what Obama did was just fine, he didn't offer anything than what they can already do and have done, case-by-case basis of discretion (not guaranteed) and no guarantee of work authorization to include not granting them any legal status and puts them into the secure communities system with fingerprints and picture. I'm perfectly fine with it.

Almost every site out there is calling it an Executive Order:
