Mexico’s Rich Don’t Like To Pay Taxes – They Think You Should

By Brenda Walker
[More by Brenda Walker]
“Poor Mexico, so far from God, so close to the United States" is an early example of the now-familiar annoying whine, first voiced by Mexican President Porfirio Diaz .
Pathetic loser, mooch, social basket case, criminal narco-state: these are Americans' mental pictures of Mexico.
But more than any other, the image is one of staggering poverty. Anyone who has been to a Mexican border town is immediately overwhelmed by the Third World - the oppressive dirt, decay, too many underfed children.
However, the truth is that Mexico is a very wealthy country. It is blessed with abundant natural resources and a fortunate location. Mexico is the richest nation in Latin America when measured by GDP, and by a wide margin: in 2001, Mexico's GDP (http://www.latinbusinesschronicle.com/statistics/gdp/ranking.htm - broken link) was the highest in Latin America, a substantial 22.5 percent more than runner-up Brazil. When GDP per capita is the gauge, Mexico is second (http://www.latin-focus.com/countries/latam/latgdppc.htm - broken link) only behind Argentina.
Half of all Latin American billionaires (http://www.latinbusinesschronicle.com/topics/billionaires03.htm - broken link), 11 out of 22, are Mexicans.
Mexico is the quintessential banana republic—a corrupt oligarchy of arrogant rich, a tiny middle class and millions of poor people, around half (http://www.statesman.com/nationworld/content/auto/epaper/editions/sunday/news_f353ee4944acd02300e1.html - broken link) of whom live in poverty.

Mexico has boasted they're the 4th riches oil nation in the world. Their people should riot in their streets until they take care of them as well, as catering to the rich in Mexico. The cold and impersonal numbers you speak of are our tax dollars coming out of American pockets to support illegal aliens from foreign nations that don't belong in our country. We have not asked for any help from Mexico nor do we desire any. It's Mexico alway begging the U.S. for money. We should cut off Foreign Aid to Mexico altogether.

The only thing I want middle class Mexicans citizens to do for America, is to stay in your own country and keep you poor, diseased, criminal people there as well.

Here's some interesting cold, impersonal data for you to know:

PLEASE CIRCULATE:

The elitists never give up power--it has to be wrested from them. Mexico needs a revolution. Again.

Right. Generally, Mexicans could take better care of their poor, reduce crime, raise wages and whatnot so their poor do not flood here for safety or out of economic necessity. Really though, our own government is the real culprit for not punishing employers and individuals in the U.S. for exploiting the cheap labour made available because of Mexico's poor economy and atrocious crime.

What this really boils down to is supply and demand. Mexico makes a supply of desperate people, and our people demand their labour.

Only the greedy employers want them for profit and they are in the back pockets of our government's elite. The rest of us don't want or need them as they have a negative impact on us.

That's right. We don't need foreign deadbeats on top of our domestic ones.
