Washington (AFP) - President Barack Obama ordered a review to see whether US deportation policies could be conducted more "humanely" following complaints by Latino advocates over mass expulsions of illegal immigrants.
Obama last week blamed Congress for high levels of deportations, saying he had no choice but to enforce existing laws because an attempt to pass immigration reform had been jammed in Congress.

Obama wants 'more humane' US deportations

Really? Those illegal aliens are being treated a whole lot BETTER on their way out than when they came here using coyotes. Sheesh!

More humanely? What does that mean? Are we beating them as they are being escorted back across the border? Are they being denied food, shelter and water? What about what is humane for the American people or don't we count? Like if they were deported instead Americans would get their jobs back and a much needed tax relief.

Obama has already stopped the deportations of illegal aliens that haven't been yet "convicted" of a serious crime and gave a stay of deportation to hundreds of thousands of them with work permits. These Hispanic "immigrant" advocacy groups will never be satisfied until every single illegal is allowed to stay here via an amnesty and all deportations are stopped. Next they will be screaming for an open border with all the countries that lay to the south of us. Bet they wouldn't desire the same for our northern border though.

Agreed and the screaming from la raza and their fans is blowing up on any sort of amnesty for illegal aliens. More and more people; even many Hispanics, ARE starting to push back against amnesty.

Ugh, I can't believe I voted for that joke. I have to keep telling myself that my alternatives were no better.

McCain was as big a fan of the Dream Act as Obama was, plus I didn't want to risk Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

As for Mitt...no offense intended to any Mormons here, but I simply can't bring myself to vote for a Mormon.

USA talks a good game but compared even to Western European countries it's deportation procedures are a joke. Have sat in airports in Paris, France watching persons literally being dragged kicking and screaming onto a plane to be deported.

By and large the "deportation problem" in the USA is it's own fault. The system is such that anyone with halfway decent legal representation or "friends" knows how to avoid being deported and or stretch the thing out until this member of Congress or that media source wails at the "injustice".

Persons come here on visas and never leave, then marry and or have children, start a business and generally go about their lives as if there is nothing to worry about. If and when they are caught the plead their sexual preference, newly created family, asylum, and any of a laundry list of reasons why they shouldn't be deported, and most of the time it works. It is really only the poor Mexicans, south Americans, and other minorities that bear the brunt of the deportation policy. Every now and then you hear of a European being deported but that is rare.

Persons have remained here for years in violation of a deportation order, if and when they are found you hear "oh well they have a husband/wife now and started a family, business, etc... during the period afterwards so should be allowed to remain", and again for many it works.

Curious, how would you feel about someone bold enough to say 'I simply can't bring myself to vote for a black man'? Not that that's how I feel at all. Just want to make sure your feet are planted firmly in front of the mirror.

Agreed. We could give each one a free new Cadillac CTS to drive back across the border and we'd still save a ton of money in the long run.
