I was signing petitions at Wal Mart when a middle aged woman with broken English and a young male, age 17 to 20, walked up speaking Spanish. At that point the woman spoke broken English and Spanish and the young male said 'not' another word even when spoken to in Spanish by the voter registration worker. He looked guilty or sneaky and registered to vote by showing a drivers license that looked unlike a California license, and when these two Hispanics left, I told the Black worker (who just happened to speak Spanish) who'd registered him that the license looked fake and that this kid was probably illegal. The worker told me 'he thinks officials are going to stop this practice (of illegals registering to vote) before the CA primary.

I've seen all kinds of Hispanics at other stores signing up illegals to vote. There are over 4 million illegals here in Los Angeles, and many illegals have more than one identity, hence all the more voting. The government has not tried to stop it so when? I don't see Republicans speaking out on this...License numbers and social security numbers would have to be checked, how impossible is that?!

ANY illegal who shows up anywhere, is in need of immediate deportation, including his or her family

Personally, I think everyone who lives in the USA and pays taxes in the USA ought to be allowed to vote. That's what democracy is---people choosing the government of the country they live in.

There is no evidence to prove they are "illegal". It is just plain wrong and judgemental to be going around accusing people who speak spanish and look latino to be illegal.

It is wrong and judgmental but probably right about them being illegal...

Many of the international students that I go to school with are working and paying taxes while living in the U.S. and attending college, but they are all citizens of another country.

So your belief is that they and others like them, simply by virtue of the fact that they are currently, but not permanently, living in the U.S. and paying taxes on their labor, should be eligible to vote in U.S. elections?

Why don't we just say to hell with the electoral process and allow the folks in Papua, New Guinea to decide who should run this country. I'm sure that they would have just as much political insight as the non-citizens you'd like to give the vote to.

Good topic! And you are right, the republicans aren't going to say anything about this for fear of being called racist.

I really doubt that officials are going to stop it any time soon. I lived in California off and on for the better part of 30 years, and this fraudulent voter registration isn't something new. It's been around quite a while, but really kicked in right after the Gov Wilson Prop 187 thing happened.

Interesting concept, jtur88.

According to your theory . . . ONLY TAXPAYERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO VOTE?
