Mexico Tries to Help Deportees
By IOAN GRILLO/MEXICO CITYFri Feb 8, 12:20 PM ET
Carlos Martinez was in a state of total panic after being deported from the United States to the Mexican border city of Matamoros - he had no money, nowhere to go, and, worst of all, he didn't speak Spanish. The 30-year-old New Yorker had left Mexico as a baby; when the Department of Homeland Security sent him south last May after he had served a prison term, he landed in a foreign land.

And it states that they will have jobs for them..
so lets see.. you sneak over here from mexico to find
a job, then get caught, THEN when you go back they have
a job for you? So give the ones there a job and they won't
become an illegal who gets deported back there. lol!
OK, he's thirty and the last amnesty was 20 years ago so why didn't his parents sign up???
Many did not. His parents brought him here when he was just a baby, how can he be held accountable for that? This is a sad heartless deportation, he was an American...he didn't choose to be illegal.

somebody has to take responsibility for entering the country illegally. the US gov't had EVERY right to deport a known criminal back to his country of origin.

Children often suffer for the stupidity of their parents. I know it sounds 'heartless' to say that, but it is the truth.
I get so tired of hearing "You're splitting up families" when an illegal parent gets deported, but you don't hear that kind of misplaced sympathy when a parent gets sentenced to prison for their crimes. At least the deported parent has the option of taking their child(ren) with them.

Martinez was born in Mexico; whose parents were obviously not US citizens or at least legal residents------besides, the man was convicted of a crime here.

He is a convicted criminal. Pretty sure it is he who is heartless.
We produce enough of our own criminals. He got exactly what he deserves. We could ship some of our criminals to mexico. A bit of turn around might help Mexico understand our position a bit better.

An argument could be that if we OFFICALLY forgave everyone who came here as a kid and allowed them to stay, millions more illegal immigrants would come to America with their kids knowing the kids would be given amnesty and eventual US Citizenship. Anchor Kids!
