Big Change As Trump Administration Pledges To Find Long-Term Solution For DACA : NPR

Quote:
Reince Priebus told Fox News this morning that the Trump administration would work with House and Senate leaders to find a long-term solution for immigrants who now have temporary legal status under the so-called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals known as DACA. It's an Obama administration executive action granting temporary legal status for immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children. That's a big change because during the campaign President Trump had pledged to undo DACA.

Republicans were FOOLED.

Liberals I know, including myself, would like to see something done. We knew he wouldn't and couldn't really built a wall--no one was dumb enough to actually believe that--but he said that doing something about illegal immigration would be one of the first things he would do.

Doesn't look like he's going to go any further on this than Obama did. They are already criminals because they came here illegally. What doesn't he understand about illegal?

Our borders are not safe.

if President Trump wants another 4 yrs, he has to fulfill he's promises or he will be a 1 term President. I don't think he likes to lose.

I told you so! Illegal immigrants (except those with serious criminal records) aren't going anywhere under Trump. Too many simpletons were expecting their so-called messiah to fulfill his campaign promises, well, let the ranting and raving begin.

Even if Trump let's most DACA beneficiaries stay, he's bound to be far tougher on illegal immigration than HRC would've been. That's good enough for me.
