Have you heard about the veteran starting a Go Fund Me account to build the border wall? Here’s the link.

A fund of this magnitude needs a trustee. I am not going to turn over a billion dollars to some retired vet somewhere.

Let's surmise the goal is reached. What happens then? If the money is turned over to the government it will disappear, never to be seen again.

Up to 8 million in 3 days from about 130 thousand donors. Check the updates for how the funds shall be targeted to building the Wall.

https://www.gofundme.com/TheTrumpWall

I think it is a trustworthy project. Here is why:

Quote:
• How will we get the funds to the right place? We have contacted the Trump Administration to secure a point of contact where all the funds will go upon completion. When we get this information secured we will update. We have many very high level contacts already helping.

• Republican Representative Steven Palazzo of Mississippi is introducing legislation to direct the Treasury Department to issue government savings bonds which would allow us to fund the wall with this method. This is just one option, there are others on the table being discussed.

• 100% of your donations will go to the Trump Wall.

• We are working with a law firm on a legal document that will bind the government to using the funds for the border wall itself, nothing else.

• We will hold all funds and not release a single penny until we have all legal aspects covered to ensure our money goes only to the wall.

• If we don’t reach our goal or come significantly close we will refund every single penny. We are working on a time frame to achieve.

Legal and appropriation issues are currently being addressed. BTW, Kolfage posted that he may be appearing on The Ingram Angle this evening.

$8.4 million + raised so far in 3 days.

Kolfage said in his crowdfunding campaign that he worked with Rep. Steven Palazzo, R-Miss., on legislation that would direct the Treasury Department to turn the money into savings bonds, which would allow the donations to be used for the border wall.
The bill, dubbed the "Border Bonds for America Act of 2018," would allow Americans to purchase revenue bonds to help finance the construction of a southern border wall. It asks the treasury secretary to issue government savings bonds, known as "Border Bonds," specifically for the construction of the wall.

Palazzo compared his bill to war bonds used to support the military during World War II.

"This legislation would allow for the patriots of today’s era to help support American security in the same way as previous generations," Palazzo said. "The American people are fed up with the political games fueled by the Democrats’ inaction to secure our borders and protect our citizens."
Kolfage noted the bill was "just one option," and "there are others on the table being discussed."
This year, Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., introduced a bill that would create a trust fund within the Treasury Department that would "accept public donations to fund the construction of a barrier on the border between the United States and Mexico."

---------------------------------------------------------------
The government has accepted large private donations before, most recently a billionaire donated $7.5 Million to fund half of the Washington Monument repairs in 2012; this is no different.

Like a majority of those American citizens who voted to elect President Donald J Trump, we voted for him to Make America Great Again. President Trump’s main campaign promise was to BUILD THE WALL. And as he’s followed through on just about every promise so far, this wall project needs to be completed still.

As a veteran who has given so much, 3 limbs, I feel deeply invested to this nation to ensure future generations have everything we have today. Too many Americans have been murdered by illegal aliens and too many illegals are taking advantage of the United States taxpayers with no means of ever contributing to our society.

I have grandparents who immigrated to America legally, they did it the correct way and it's time we uphold our laws, and get this wall BUILT!It’s up to Americans to help out and pitch in to get this project rolling.

“If the 63 million people who voted for Trump each pledge $80, we can build the wall.” That equates to roughly 5Billion Dollars, even if we get half, that's half the wall. We can do this.

Democrats are going to stall this project by every means possible and play political games to ensure President Trump doesn’t get his victor. They'd rather see President Trump fail, than see America succeed. However, if we can fund a large portion of this wall, it will jumpstart things and will be less money Trump has to secure from our politicians.

This won’t be easy, but it’s our duty as citizens. This needs to be shared every single day by each of you on social media. We can do it, and we can help President Trump make America safe again!

I think it's a brilliant idea. Let those who want the wall pay for it and let those who don't have their tax payer dollars get wasted some where else. I wouldn't be surprised if that money doesn't just disappear.

It's a brilliant idea for so many agendas!! If you support something, then pay for it, if you don't then don't contribute.

Brilliant idea. Why not let Americans fund the wall if they want to. I have no problem with that.

A couple of questions though. If private citizens pay for and build this wall, can the next democrat administration order it dismantled? Would the wall be considered government property or privately owned property? Would it even make a difference to a government that wanted it torn down for political reasons?
