DeSantis and Abbott think they are scoring points with this stunt and they are - at least with the far-right hardcore fringe like those that post here in the P&OC echo chamber.

For the rest of the country who in are in large part practical centrists, they are doing exactly the opposite. They are driving away the average everyday Americans that have common sense and values.

This is going to backfire on these guys big time. Just like they are paying the price for overturning Roe, this is going to get very expensive for them, especially if they have aspirations for the Presidency.

As far as the whole idea of sharing the immigration burden with the rest of the nation, that idea has merit. But we all know this is not why DeSantis and Abbott are doing this. If that was really their intent, they would be working with other states to accomplish that rather than simply dumping their pawns unannounced in some "liberal" city. This is all about driving wedges, and they are finding that brown-skinned human beings work really well for that task.

DeSantis and Abbott are helping the Libs.by moving the ' poor and disenfranchised ' off the border and to places in the country that tell us to open our hearts [and wallets} to save the " undocumented ".
But now when the 'RIGHT ' has helped the said poor the Libs cry ' kidnapping ' like Gov. of California..

They can send them to Denver. Unfortunately Democrats have ruined Colorado. A couple years ago, our Colorado Democrats passed a law to allow illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses and of course our Democrats positioned this as a “safety” issue, even though we all know it’s because they’re trying to legitimize, encourage, and condone illegal immigration.

Drop a couple of hundred off as close as possible to Pacific Palisades, LA.

Also drop a thousand or so off in downtown LA as well as in downtown San Francisco

I have an idea. How about we finish the wall that Trump started and the taxpayer pay for it just as they did back in 2006 when inferior fencing was built that now needs to be replaced. Since illegals cost us over $100 billion a year it's a win-win for the taxpayer.

No doubt immigration reform should be done, but it takes both parties of Congress to make that happen. McConnell certainly hasn't had the stomach for it up to this point.
This topic is about illegal aliens not asylum seekers. As for the latter the majority of them are making bogus claims so why should they be treated with respect?

As for the poem in the Statue of Liberty it was meant for migrants to come through the Golden Door not the back door like a thief in the night. A poem written long ago does not dictate our modern day immigration laws anyway. We can no longer take in the world's tired and poor in this day and age.

Reform is merely a phoney word for amnesty. We tried that once and not we have at least quadruple the number of illegals here today. Fool me once!

Those "people" see a lot of parallels between despots Meduro and Duterte with folks like DeSantis and Abbott, and they like it.

If this stunt wasn't so sickening, you'd have to laugh at the fact that DeSantis and Abbott are effectively shooting themselves in the foot. Those that applaud this ridiculous charade are giving the middle finger to Latinos in the US many of who still have families and friends "down there". If they can't simply execute them, the next best thing is to degrade and humiliate them. It's a bizarre strategy, similar to the pro-life movement. You might solidify the hardcore base with these "issues", but at the end of the day you lose with the general public who want nothing to do with these extremists.
There is a certain criteria to be met to claim asylum in our country. Fleeing dictators is not one of them! Statistically 80% of these asylum seekers are making bogus claims.

This topic isn't about them anyway it's about illegal aliens. You do know the difference don't you? Who cares if Latinos in our country (legally of course) still has family down there. That doesn't entitle them to come here illegally nor to make bogus asylum claims. Latinos aren't special nor are their families. They have to follow the rules just like everyone else. How is that giving Latinos the middle finger? How is it that Latinos in our country still have families down there anyway? Are they also here illegally then?

Our border governors are making a statement to Biden and his fellow pro-illegals and it is working. The border states should not have to bear the burden of the social costs of these so-called "migrants". If Biden and the Democrats want them they can have them!

This has nothing to do with the pro-life issue. That's about killing the unborn but you knew that, didn't you?

Many businesses & restaurants especially were shuttered, and closed 1 month earlier than normal this season because when the colleges went back into session, they lost too much of their staffs to remain open.

They are bringing in young people from other countries. A waiter we had was from Croatia, & he was being housed in a youth hostel that was leased by his employer...a large high-end hotel.
As long as these foreigners are brought here legally not illegally and they will be making a liveable wage then so be it but importing them to work cheap, to replace Americans on their jobs or where the taxpayer has to supplement their living costs then it's a big fat NO!

BS! A rich businessman does not hire manual laborers themselves. There is no proof that he had any knowledge that there were any illegals working on his properties. Once discovered they were fired promptly and those illegals had used fake documents to get hired anyway. Since then Trump uses e-verify on all of his properties.
