There's (in)effectively 2 layers of this critical function of Homeland Security - and we obviously had illegal entry controls before 9/11 when DHS was created and this was folded in.
The illegal worked for some subcontractor of record.
The chances of that subcontractor having just 1 illegal on their payroll is almost 0.
And the chances of the primary contractor doing anything to ensure whether the subcontractor had only legal employees is also almost 0.
That's the way the laws are written. Now, the laws won't be changed at any speed, but the Enforcement division - ICE - has every ability if not responsibility to TRY. But we have had an ICE that doesn't really try, and we currently have a DHS that has told ICE - DON'T!
" During the investigation, the majority of construction workers at the scene gave authorities false names and lied, Gualtieri said. "
I'd like to see a $100,000 fine per illegal for the construction company.

I believe the first time, it's $1,000 per, and then goes up. Again, that's the law, and it's obviously not changing anytime soon. But ICE can detain and deport all those workers.
Mayorkas has made it literal policy that "being here illegally is not reason enough for deportation"

The problem is that many times these illegals present fake or stolen documents to get hired and without e-verify mandated it's not always easy to detect. The Democrats refuse to sign an e-verify bill. The only way to prevent them from being paid in cash of which there are no records is to deter them at the border as much as we can of which the Democrats have failed on that to.
Nothing new. Illegals that have no business being here annually murder over 2000 Americans. Politicians should be held solely responsible.
Start arresting politicians that don’t abide by existing immigration law. Do it today. We can start with sanctuary cities and a few scum from this current admin.
