11-year-old El Paso boy slain in Mexico - El Paso Times

EL PASO -- An 11-year-old El Paso boy was killed Monday during a highway robbery on the Durango-Mazatlan road in Mexico.
The boy, Rico Armando Bañuelas, was on a family trip to Mazatlan when robbers tried to stop the Volkswagen Jetta he was riding in near a section of mountain road known as "El Espinazo del Diablo," (the devil's spine), El Siglo De Durango newspaper reported on its Web site.

The robbers opened fire, killing Rico, when the Jetta sped past a roadblock the bandits had set up and used to rob bus passengers and another vehicle. The suspects were captured.

The boy's uncle is one of the very vocal local open-borders advocates. He harbors illegals in his church and openly boasts about that, kind of ironic. I wonder if the uncle will still be as adamantly for open unenforced borders or will harbor everyone he can from over there.

I also wonder if the pro-illegals advocates who want no limits on illegal immigration, no enforcement of our immigration laws will make as many comments on this case as they did on the illegal killed in a confrontation in the USA.

Will violent Mexicans be as harshly condemned?

Hopefully he will learn a lesson about what happens when you have compassion for criminals. Sorry to hear about the boy though, it is always a shame when an innocent is killed.

Nothing. It is very obviously about MEXICANS.

Off course violent mexicans and for that matter, violent people in general should be harshly condemned. Let me ask you a question, would enforcement of the immigration laws have prevented this death? Again, this article doesn't belong in the immigration forum!

Immigrant family but also a very pro-open borders priest involved who never misses a march when it comes to protest for keeping the borders unenforced.

The uncle is well-known for harboring illegals, using his church.

Again, what does it have to do with "illegals"? Did "illegals" kill his nephew? Did open borders kill this boy? This thread is just another thread started to bash mexicans period.

They could have just as easily been illegals he harbored, obviously he bypasses any background checks on illegals he encourages to move here, but more to the point -- do you care even remotely as much about an innocent child as you do about an illegal killed in the USA?

If Americans kill a Mexican it's a big deal, if Mexicans do, no problem?

The family is an immigrant family. Does it only matter if something happens bad to Mexican immigrants in the USA?
