Napolitano did sign the Employer Sanctions Law so she was not a total 'lib' IMHO. And that law basically terrified the illegal aliens as a group----------they are much thinner on the ground compared to late 2007.

Case in point: once every few months I set foot in a Wal-Mart near where I live and most of the 'brown' skinned customers in there are English speaking American Indians whereas even 8 months ago the 'brown' folks there were usually speaking Spanish. That store has the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community nearby as well as several Hispanic barrios which are turning into ghost towns.
