For those that want to talk about incorporating more "diversity" into immigration, how about allowing for same-sex sponsorship?...
That isn't what is meant by diversity. It is about different ethnic/national groups migrating here in equal numbers. You are comparing apples to oranges here.

Well -- you can't deny that some gays have true and lasting relationships. And what of the asexuals who just have a close friend but don't want to consummate anything?

I think they can determine which are real and which are shams in a couple ways. If the couple can only stay in love if both are living in the USA, then it's very questionable -- as real love can exist outside the USA. Often that "for better or worse" is meaningless.

The sponsor is supposed to provide for the financial support of their immigrant and that should include putting them on an insurance plan and paying their other health care costs. A very good sign of a sham marriage is when the immigrant is not added to all the bank and credit card accounts.

I edited a little bit to ask you if YOur statement is true for marriages not based on immigration?...

If it isn't possible to add a spouse onto all bank accounts prior to them coming here, is that also a "sham marriage"?...

YOu would make such a good Consular Officer, and there is nothing hindering YOu from doing it...

Of course YOu would have to work in Juarez...
