Bingo. If this were an American family illegally squatting in mexico and demanding free medical treatment, they'd be lucky to just be deported.

When is the rest of the world going to learn that we owe them or their illegal aliens nothing?

Where did he and his family ask for prayers? I must have missed that part of the video. They are not asking for prayers, they are asking for US citizens to pick up the tab for the very expensive surgery this man needs. I am willing to pray for his return to health, I suspect most Americans would be willing to pray, send good wishes or positive energy his way or whatever. What we should not be expected to do is pay for his medical care.

I am showing compassion for the millions of Americans who lack health insurance and struggle to receive care but because they are not an illegal alien and thus one of the Chosen, no reporter will bother with their story.

Furthermore, his wife should have carefully thought through all the ramifications of marrying an illegal alien. Clearly, she failed to do so.

You are missing the point is not about illegals or legals is about some ones life that matters more then his status.
What are YOU doing? Have you called to make a donation towards the cost of his medical care yet? If not, why not?

This is a situation that could easily be remedied. How, you might say? Simple. The country that he is a citizen of could pay for his medical care. I once worked in a hospital that did a significant number of open heart surgeries each year. We would get patients from all over the world. Alot of patients from India came for valve replacements. Sadly, the public healthcare system in parts of India was not the best and it was not uncommon for their people to have rheumatic fever, some would develop heart valve problems as a result and need surgery. Back then, this surgery was not available in India, so the government of India would pay to have Indian citizens, often with a family member flown to the US so they could get the care they needed. Let me repeat this to make sure you understand. The surgery they needed was not available in India, so the government of India sent them here and paid for the surgery in the US.Many other countries also send their citizens out of country for care that is not available. The Cleveland Clinic has cared for many Saudi members of the royal family over the years.

This man is a citizen of Mexico. Explain to me WHY the government of Mexico should not pay for THEIR CITIZEN'S care. Why aren't they coughing up the money to cover his medical care? The reason is because it is just so much easier to dump it off on the gullible 'gringos', the Americans. I am tired of this. If the US is the only place this surgery is available, then the Mexican government needs to come up with the bucks. He is their citizen, not ours.

Americans end up crippled for life all the time, even ones with insurance, because of financial constraints. I resent being asked to foot the bill for this leech's surgery when American citizens who have done nothing wrong and broken no laws are in the same boat.

Our responsibility is to our own citizens. We cannot afford to buff up every Mexican who jumps the fence.

so we go ahead and let this man die? because we must sit on our high horse and look at this man as a leech. I know many americans that would help out this man's family. It's about life and death and not about his status.

Have you called the Mexican Embassy and demanded to know WHY they are not showing compassion for THEIR citizen? The Mexican government could come up with $100,000 this afternoon if they chose to do so. Once the money is put up front, we can get this guy on the surgery schedule. So what's the hold up? Tell them it is about life and death. Ask the Mexican consulate if they would be willing to pay $100,000 for surgery for an American who is illegally in their country? Since the answer is 'no', ask them why they expect us to do that.

Furthermore, since you are the one getting all excited, have you sent a donation?

Absolutely! In addition, what about La Raza, LULAC, MALDEF, or any number of other illegal alien advocacy groups. Where are they? No, they only exploit illegals.

Isn’t that the truth! It would be like taking money out of their like petty cash fund.

Actually, this man isn't being denied anything that isn't already denied to some of our American citizens. How many Americans need operations and life-saving treatment but can't get it because they don't have insurance or there's some loop-hole in their insurance that prevents them from getting their care they need; for example, life-saving cancer treatment. How many American citizens' treatment are kept at arm's length until they're loaded into an ambulance and given the bare minimum. He thinks he should get more? Welcome to America. Be careful--you may just get what you ask for.

I don't feel sorry for him because he's lying that there are no hospitals in Mexico. There are and in fact there are some good ones. There are hospitals, the Social Seguro hospitals, medical clinic, curanderos, and brujeros. Lots of standard western medicine practices, pharmacies and lots of alternative medicine practices -- in his own country.
