Mind you, I don’t agree with many of their causes, but you simply can NOT deny their impact.
One would have to be delusional to believe CIR will pass; particularly, with unemployment rates continuing to climb. In some regions of this country the rate has reached 30%. If you think for one minute citizens will sit idly by and allow illegal aliens to become eligible for the scant available jobs and benefits, you had better think again.
I am all for legal immigration. They have to jump through hoops, etc to get here. You are all familiar with the hell bureaucrats can put you through at banks, and DMV, correct ? Why should illegals be allowed a free pass ? The problem : The bleeding hearts who feel sorry for criminals. Allowing illegals = ulterior motives. Imagine the churches they would fill, and think of the future cannon fodder for the next war of choice. And (drumroll) the millions of consuming taxpayers. Nothing is free, kiddies. If churches had to pay the bills for illegals, they would lose that bleeding heart very quickly.

They are two entirely different organizations. First off, the whole conspiracy theory thing of NCLR has really got to change. The organization has done much for the poor. The teabaggers are fighting to protect the interests of the ultra-conservative rich.
LULAC came out of the Great Depression, where America deported American citizens believed to be illegal. Again...not the same as the teabaggers.
MALDEF is advocating for a group that is underrepresented. Their 1981 suit against LA was needed in order to address the needs of specific areas of the city. Again, the ideal of equality. Whereas, teabaggers want inequality...lack of healthcare reform was their original rallying cry.
I'm saying that all of these groups are saints. Various scandals have plagued them. However, I am saying that a core component of these groups is actually the betterment of a segment of the American population. Picking out shades of gray...which one is lighter, which one is darker.
Personally, I wish that groups were not aligned with an ethnic group, race, or even politics...but rather in a common, universal cause (healthcare for all, better education for all, etc.) The teabaggers are further from this ideal.

Frankly; the PR damage from those so-called 'illegal immigrants rights' marches from May 2006 is still rippling like a pebble thrown in a pond.
I really sense that it is too late for ACORN, etc.; as it is, the Feds are investigating them so I doubt that ACORN wants to call more negative attention onto itself.
As for the la raza types: if I were them; I would shut up concerning illegal aliens and work to protect Americans of Mexican, etc. lineage from the extremists on both sides i.e. Neo-Nazi's and MEChA.
The Tea Party turnout is irrelevant. What matters is the defeat of another amnesty bill. Make no mistake, it will happen.
