So, we go full circle to the beginning of the discussion; assimilate by adopting spanish as 2nd official language of the usa....
Makes sense to me...except that it would be unfair to speakers of Tagalog, or Twi, or Finnish..these people would feel 'left out' and would probably sue. The Frisians and Danes might get upset, too.
I have a better idea. Why not make Mongol khel the official language of America? That way, almost 99% of us would start on an even footing...none of us would have an unfair advantage over anybody, except of course those few immigrants from Mongolia....and I hear they're pretty mellow people.

Hispanics have no pull in this country whatsoever, Mr. Arrogance. Their numbers just aren't there. Thanks for proving my point though about a culture that has a tribal mentality and has no respect for the law or freedom of speech.

Or pure Castillian Spanish............not Mexican dialect. Trust me: the reconquistas would cringe since the former is the language of the Spanish conquistador who abused the Mx indigenous people very badly 500 years ago.

I think this thread has gone on long enough. As usual, the focus of the discussion has been lost, killed by nitpicking and venting.
Also I don't know whether it's the lack of reading comprehension skills, or simply the inability to admit to a mistake that brought this thread down, I think it's both to some extent.
