I said that the status quo was infinitely better than amnestying these illegal border jumpers, not that that was what we should do. Enforcement of universal new tough on illegals laws/tough on the criminal employers of illegals laws would be the solution. This was proven by the mass exodus of illegals in Oklahoma and arizona when these laws were enacted. Make it impossible for illegals to work in the US or receive welfare and the MAJORITY of illegals will self deport themselves poste haste. Enacting these laws today is not possible because the amnesty Democrats control Congress. Amnesty Democrats are blatantly hispandering to a whole new voter bloc of illegals if they could just get them amnestied. In the 2010 elections, however, it is expected that the ranks of the amnesty Democrats and Rino Republicans will be seriously thinned as the country swings back to it's normal center right position, hastened, no doubt, by the far left wing policies of our own inept community organizer in chief.

I agree but the enforce our laws part would require doing it at gun point and thats not going to happen and the illegals know it. We have plenty of folks who would be more than happy to enforce our immigration laws at gun point too but letting them do it isnt going to happen either.......so what do we do?
At gun point? So, the only companies complying with our DOL, IRS, and immigration laws are those staring down the barrel of a gun? The only citizens obeying our laws are those being threatened with physical harm? That is utter nonsense. Or, are you implying if we enforce all laws illegals will arm themselves and fight against law enforcement?

Very risky if illegals start whipping out guns-----------especially in states where Americans are still allowed to carry. Arizona comes to mind.
Even the Mx drug cartels watch their manners here since the instinctively know it would be open season on them if they did something truly stupid here in the USA...........and, I will leave the ramifications of such to one's imagination.
