Have you seen CNN the past few days? It has shown nothing but one-sided stories AGAINST this bill. Way to be unbiased news! They have shown no support for it at all, and this story is further proof.
Phoenix is the kidnapping capitol of the US, and crime does happen by some illegals, but thanks to strong enforcement even before this bill was passed, it is not as bad as it could be. If Arizona did not have Sheriff Joe, you can see these crime rates be astronomical.
It's a media outlet, no hits no more CNN. Of course they want it stirred up for the ratings.
The kidnapping is not just drug trafficking related. It's very common for the human traffickers (aka coyotes) to hold the illegals hostage until the money is paid up, and also to demand more money once they have the illegals where they want them. Very often the family gets a call saying a certain amount -- over the original price -- must be paid.
You want no enforcement of immigration laws, no enforcement of the border. You want family reunification so that illegals already here can start bringing in long lost family members to join them here. You want amnesty to all who have arrived here illegally as their reward for breaking our laws.
The USA has by far more legal immigrants than any other country but that's not enough. In spite of high unemployment rates, the pro-illegals want no limits placed on how many can come.
Immigration must be fair, balanced and orderly. It cannot be a free-for-all, and there are laws in place for a reason. The laws are not being enforced, that's the problem.

Straw man after straw man. Quit assuming the platforms of 'pro-illegals'. We aren't pro-illegal. We are, however, anti-scapegoating. There's a serious illegal immigration problem, no doubt. But instead of threatening all industries... all restaurants, meat packing plants, grocery stores, agricultural sites... instead of threatening to kick them out if they hire illegals... they went after the little guy. That's what I'm against, malamute. I'm against acts of cowardice that goes after the litte guy. They can't face the big corporations head on and tell them to "cut it out", that would mean less political contributions from major industries. Americans are loathe to comprehensive solutions that are painful and long-term. They want something quick and short-term. Painful solutions would require the state, and the feds, to penalize industries and/or companies that hire illegals. Painful solutition require that we pay higher housings costs, higher food costs. The rich would have to pay taxes on their nannies and maids. The poor would have to pay higher grocery bills. If America wants a real solution, it better prepare to strap down. Is it readY?

The feds need to go after both the big guy and the little guy as they are both equally guilty and that is what they have done with the raids in case you didn't know.
What the Arizona law's intent is to rid their state of illegal aliens. It IS a deterrant for more to cross the border illegally and take up residence in Arizona.
