Does the state have legalized gambling like perhaps state-operated slot machine casinos?

No. The state licenses the casinos. Every casino I was ever in had slots. I don't know if video gaming is allowed in bars and boats are not.

I don't understand what is the big hoopla about legalizing gambling/casinos in Illinois... After all scratch games, 'mega millions' and all other similar games is a kind of gambling

It goes back to the era when Al Capone had 30 gambling boats on the Illlinois River and wanted to turn a little river town into a mini-Reno. Gambling is big business and fun until it becomes an expensive bad habit.

Vlajos I believe I said that earlier, "No. The state licenses the casinos." It looks like the Gov is alloweing a couple new ones near in or near Chicago and another not too far away. No video poker.

The thread is a month old. A.) Maybe he already signed it. B.) Maybe it applied only to future casino(s) around Chicago. C.) I don't know the answer. I pay little attention to video poker as I can play at home for free.
