It would be a purple state at that point. Duh.

Probably won't happen in the next cycle if the voting restrictions pass. Is it purple - probably. Does the Republican party in Texas want to start losing elections? No, so instead of appealing to more voters, they're just making it more difficult to vote.

You know, like demanding a photo id and stuff. It's a travesty I tell ya, those 5 people in Tx who don't have one are being voter-restricterated, which is how the republicans will win!

Why are so many attracted to AZ?

Because east coasters dominate Florida. AZ is too far for them, and they usually want to stay near a coastline.

Midwesterners are used to no major coastline, are closer to AZ, and feel more at home there.

Prior to 2020, Arizona hadn't elected a democrat to the senate in 32 years!!! Now they have 2. The trends are obvious, though they are gradual and slow, they are there.
Democrats love to embrace the theory that this country is moving ever so in that direction and then are shocked when Republicans win the elections. The Republicans have lagged in popularity and registration since the '30s, but they always somehow manage to punch above their weight and are able to expand their coalition in various ways. Trump, whatever you think of him, was very good about finding new Republican voters.

The Democrats lately have also been very good at making new Republican voters.
