Not long ago, I've shared in the Chicago Suburbs subsection, the 2015 Wheaton Christmas Festival. Here's the link to it below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkH6PC4L0Qo&t=2576s

I bring this particular one up because despite the choirs, orchestra, and percussion ensemble all sounding great, the audience, for some reason, responded tepidly at the end. And it's quite unusual because in the other years, the audience responded a lot better.

In regards to the one I shared, if someone can reach out to people that attended and ask them to write an apology letter to the Wheaton Choir and Orchestra for how they responded, that would be terrific.

What does this forum have to do with a specific concert and its attendees(?)

*You* write to these random unknown people somehow LOL

(Hint: older people/retirees at a holiday concert won’t typically be whistling loudly like an audience at a rock concert in the city)

First of all, the lack of whistling is not the only reason to why I feel the response was tepid.

Second of all, while whistling throughout the applause isn't really polite at these type of things, giving one or two short whistles is totally acceptable. I sang in a college choir myself, and most of my concerts had scattered whistles and whoops at the end.

Plus, while there were several retired aged people in the audience, there were some younger folks mixed in there as well.

There could be a million reasons for the response. Performers know that every audience is unique. You could kill one day and 'bomb' the next day with the same material. It could have been a bad day. I'm sure the performers have already forgotten this and moved on.

This is a really dumb thread.

Oh goodness, I forgot to share one major thing, and I hope that this will cause someone to be willing to do my request. Anyway, I forgot to share that the response was literally the worst response I've ever seen, and this is not a joke.
