I would appreciate any help in getting the name of USAR Units in Michigan City in 1958. I need this information in order to recieve my retirement. My records burned in the St Louis Fire and I haven't been able to reconstruct my records proving I had the years and points.

Any help or leads will be greatly appreciated.

Could the Michigan City Public Library be of any use? You could call their reference desk number:

Thanks so much for the suggestion. Tried this and all they could do was give leads and phone numbers of VA Regional Office, National Personnel Records, etc. No one was able to lead me to the name of the Unit which I must have to get the needed info. I'm still looking and searching. Thank you again.

Don't they actually have some phone books from that time?

Anyways, my best advice would be to call the Indiana Army National Guard. 317 247-3300 x0. Yes, it is the Guard, however, we are all Army and I'm sure SOMEONE there would be able to help you.

If all else fails: Congressman Steve Buyer, Representing Indiana's Fourth Congressional District (http://stevebuyer.house.gov/biomil.htm - broken link)

Contact his office and ask to speak with the military liason. Steve Buyer is in the Reserves so I'm sure the office would be more than willing to help out. Just remember, turn to the military. We look out for each other since no one else will

Thanks on the tip regarding Congressman Steve Buyer and the phone books for 1958. The library had a directory for that year but could find no listing. Letters will be going to Congressman Buyer. Tried his phone numbers and could get voice mail only so snail mail here I come. Had no idea who to leave a voice mail for.
Thank you so much.
