Hi I'm building a concrete ramp for an Eagle Scout project. I'm taking out an old ramp with jackhammers and then the next day putting in the new ramp. I am not very limited on funds because it is for a school that just learned of a health hazard. The ramp needs to be about three feet long and a foot high, and 5-6 feet wide. The problem is that the ramp needs to support equipment weighing around 500 pounds, pulled by a four wheeler. The ramp needs to last through both below zero and above 100 degree temperatures, as well as rain, sleet, snow, and ice. The incline will be surrounded by dirt and the edge will touch asphalt. My questions are, what type of concrete to use, how much (ballparked), whether to use ground rocks on the bottom or rebar or wire? Also based on the amount and type of concrete how long it would take to cure.

You might get help, or a referral to someone who can answer your questions from your county highway department.
