I will be visiting Kokomo over this Memorial day weekend for 4 days. We have 2 kids ( 11 and 7).

I need suggestions for Kids friendly places to visit/ Activities etc.

So far we have decided following
- 1 day for Indiana Beach.
- 1 Evening to attend family wedding.

We still have 3 days open. We have been to Indianapolis so that is not an option. We want to spend time in Kokomo and surrounding areas.

Thanks.

you could visit the Grissom Air Museum just north of Kokomo. You could also check out Missesinewa Reservoir:

Grissom Air Museum Index
DNR: Mississinewa Lake

not sure if this would float your boat:

Cole Porter Birthplace & Museum

you could also check out Big Ben:

Not much interesting in Kokomo, to be bluntly honest.

Kokomo has a City of Firsts visitors center on the north side of town on 31 ... I'm sure they would have plenty of brochures of area attractions.

Sorry, DG. My better half is from there, all of her family lives there, and I commuted there for a year. I tried to think of something, but couldn't think of anything.

This is probably too late for your trip. EVERYONE coming to Kokomo HAS to go to the Kokomo city park & see BIG BEN & the Old Sycamore Stump. It is a nice park too for a picnic. There is also the Elwood Haynes Museum... he invented the first automobile; Siberling Mansion will be open... a museum of local history; Automobile Museum which is on #31 in the same bldg. as the Convention Center.

I believe there is something going on downtown but I can't remember what right now. The planes on display at Grissom are really neat & only about 15 min. from Kokomo. The Greentown Glass Museum might be open.

Looking for a nice town to retire in like kokomo or Danville. Would love some feedback on the two areas from a crime perspective, community etc....
Currently live in CA and want to get away as much as possible from the drug and gang element.
Need to be fairly close to Illinois, for my family lives there, but moving back there is not an option, so want to locate somewhere so the drive into Illinois is not exhausting.

Kokomo is very famous for tours. You can have glasss tours by visiting some great places like Greentown glass museum and Seiberling mansion.
