My parents would like to live right near the village of Broad Ripple so they'd have easy access to the bank, stores, etc. They need a 1 bedroom apartment that is under $500 a month. Thanks for your suggestions!

I don't think you will find any safe BR one bedroom apts for $500 a month as they are really in demand due to the popularity of the area. If they qualify for income supported apartments and any are available, check the senior ones behind Target and Whole foods on 86th just west of Westfield. You can see the very new four story building right behind the mall. All sidewalks, bank, target, new Kroger across 86th, Post Office, etc. within 2 blocks. Crestwood Senior Apts are also behind the mall on 91st I think. All depends on their income and assets for income support.

There are a bunch of Free Senior Publications with apartment listings for seniors in Indianapolis.

Crestwood is also over $500 unless their income qualifies for a lower income supported rent.

Note: There are $500-600 apartments along 52nd, Lower College, all the way to 38th, that will advertise south Broad Ripple or close to Broad Ripple. They are not or are not within walking distance of the facilities you would need. I used to live in one along 52nd back when there was a good retail store and grocery on Keystone but that is pretty well gone.

Craigslist gave a bunch of the above mentioned apartments and the biggest issue is distance to the stuff you asked about.
