I met my good friend shortly after she moved here from Cambridge. Within a year, I was the only American friend she had ... she met some expats at the Children's Museum and then they hooked her up with their circles and so on and so on.

You won't have any problems at all!

Thanks - the language is the same but the culture is sooooo different sometimes. Having said that it normally only takes me a couple of days to relax. Brits are generally quite reserved but very warm. We normally take a while to open up and then theres no stopping us Ive made many American friends through my job and keep in touch with quite a few. Some serving in the US Army in Afghanistan and some working at RR.

Its god to hear here are Britishs networks but Im not desperate to "be with my own kind" just interested.
