Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. We will be relocating mid February. My husband will be working out of the Madison area but willing to commute up to 45 min-1 hr. Any suggestions on good places to live in this range? We have kids, so good schools is a priority for us. We also will be looking to rent a townhouse/house etc.

TY

Madison is roughly half way between Louisville and Cincinnati, but there isn't a great way to get to either metro area because I-71 runs south of Madison in Kentucky. You're looking at about an hour commute each way to the suburbs of either city.

My opinion is that cities and suburbs are better for families than small towns, but that is truly a matter of opinion.

According to the Indiana Dep't of Education, Madison High School tested below state average the past few years. You can search by school name or by city/town at this website:

Also, you might try re-posting in the general Indiana forum, and the Louisville and Cincinnati forums. This is the Indianapolis forum; while you might find someone that is knowledgeable about southern Indiana on this board, the vast majority of people from the area probably aren't on the Indianapolis board. Indy is about 2.5 hours away from Madison.

Good luck!
