I'd say it depends on what you want in the way of community. New Palestine is getting quite busy, It is growing in size and population as well. I prefer quiet and low traffic. I don't mind hopping on the interstate to drive to shopping, entertainment or etc. Fairland is the perfect small town and has a great school system, 5 star in fact. Right now there are a lot of bank owned properties that you can get cheap and fix them up the way you like. I love the peacefullness and the fact the people are friendly, and lets not forget the new casino.

What exactly are you looking for in a new area? Home prices? Housing inventory? School systems?

Hi cbwinslo, I have seen the reply you have given. As you seem to know well Fairland could you please be so kind as to give me some info on it namely:
Distance in miles to Indy Race ring and to nearest hospital .
Any other info would be appreciated cause I'm considering moving there and an area expert's opinion would be of great help. Thank you

I recommend ShelbyVille if your coming from Europe cause it will be a bigger community (About 15,000 people) Also its directly on I-74 and it has all your shopping etc that you would need.
In addition you can learn the culture here easier

All are good location in the Indianapolis metro area, but not the only ones. I believe you will be pleased with the variety of chouces available to you.

If you think indianapolis/fishers traffic is bad, you should never travel outside of indiana.

Apparently not, because I can point to a metro area just three hours up the road with significantly worse traffic that what you'll experience along I-69 in the Fishers area.

You know, it's amazing I even had time to write this post. According to you, I should still be stuck in traffic right now.
