You must not get out of Carmel much because traffic really isn't bad. The only really bad traffic areas are on Meridian and Keystone right at 465. Castleton has probably the worst and most consistently bad traffic in the city.

82nd and Allisonville was rated the most dangerous intersection in Indianapolis. I saw in on the news so I know it is true.

I haven't had one accident or even a close call driving through that intersection.

Thank you all for the helpful information. We are headed up there tomorrow to find a place to live and after all of the comments I've decided to view several places in the Castleton area. Does anyone know much about all of the apartments clustered around those waterways (forgive me I don't know what you all call them) like Riverbend, Lakeshore, River Crossing, etc.? Some of them are very pricey but any feedback would help. If you know, which of those would you recommend us visiting and those we should steer clear of?

I actually live fairly close to Castleton and am there several times a week. Driving up to my parents house in Carmel is a real chore. Roads are shut down everywhere, speed limits are 10mph less than everywhere else, bumper to bumper traffic, sitting through stoplights 2 or 3 times. Sorry but Castleton traffic isn't even close to the mess they have in Carmel.
