Looks like a lot of the imagery has been updated on Google. My backyard now shows my pool and the car from a week or so ago... Anybody know how to use "street view" though? can't figure it out..
Street view in Google Maps, you mean? If so, it's easy. You just zoom in to the area you want to see, and drag the little yellow man onto the street you want to view.
Not sure if they have street view on Google Earth. I rarely use it.
An alternative method would be, after inputting an address in Google Maps, click on the pink balloon and a pop-up will appear. If there's a street view available, you'll see a thumbnail on the right side of the box and a link below that says "Street view." You can either click on the thumbnail or the link to get the enlarged street view and navigation tools.
If you want a street view of any location, zoom in fairly close and right-click as close to the middle of the street as you can. On the menu that appears, choose "What's Here?" A pink balloon or a green arrow will appear after clicking on that link. Click on either the balloon or the arrow and the pop-up will again appear giving either the address or the GPS coordinates. If a street view is available, the thumbnail and link will appear on the right side of the box where you can click and get the enlarged street view with navigation tools. If no street view is available, there will be no thumbnail nor link in box.
The makers of these programs should figure that not everyone automatically knows how to use the programs and they should make it simpler for some of us.
If in doubt, I click on everything, and i ended up on a world tour when I was trying to locate my friends house in Alaska. That was aggravating.
