They call it Broadband and it runs slower than a 1200 baud connection much of the time. Why is it so awful?b

It's called broadband because that's what it is. It's slow cause it's on a cellular network using old technology and you get what you pay for.

It is a rare passing moment that I get 200kbps, usually it's around 50 and at times is below 1.

And I'm paying $45/mo which is MORE than most the users I know are paying.
