IE refuses to open my Google Gmail page. Everything else opens normally. Gmail opens in Firefox, but just remains blank in IE. The "Phishing filter is checking" icon comes on at the botton and stays on. I turned off Phishing filter, still just blank. I set it as a trusted site, still just blank. (If you want to ask me which version of IE I'm using, you'll have to explain how I can find that out.)

What do you have for a PC? brand, ghz & ram? Click on TOOLS up on your task bar, and go to WINDOWS UPDATE, let Microsoft scan your PC for updates, and install.

Oh and what type of connection do you have? dialup? cable?

By the way gmail is very hard to reach at times and sometimes impossible.

Yeah, it's intermittent. Just have to hit the Refresh to get it to come up. Sometimes you have to refresh it a couple times. Annoying, but what can ya do?

Yes, it corrected itself spontaneously after abvout an hour---although I diddled with things like Phishing Philter, like returning them to normal. I had even closed the browser several times and reopened it, to no avail. This is the first time it hasppened to me, in a couple of years. I could get it on one browser (Firefox), but not the other (IE), so I have to assume it is something within the browser. By the way, how DO I identify my version of IE?

Go to the top of your browser window; click on "Help" then go to "About" (should be the last item on the list). The version number will be in the small window that opens.

A workaround would be to access the mobile version of Gmail if the browser you're using doesn't support the full product. http://m.gmail.com

I had to google and found that link somehow and that worked.

Its the way it loads, if you check the address, I think its like mail.google.com/# vs. http://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox

So, maybe typing inbox afterwards would work? Im not entirely sure. I haven't run into it enough times to tackle it.
