Would it be a great gesture of customer service if these companies provided free HBO and Pay Per View channels during this COVID situation? So many people are isolated at home.

Comcast is already providing free hotspot and a few others are as well.

I don't really see free HBO or Pay Per View value added. Most people who like watching movies already have one or more on-demand platforms. On top of that, there's tons of free content on the internet (youtube, for example).

Typical give someone an inch, they want a foot. People need internet currently to work & school from home, free premium channels don't contribute to either of those things.

In fact it might even disturb the bandwidth for those that now need to use remote work or school.

Comcast has offered some pay channels, such as Showtime and Epic, as free through April. Netflix has long offered the first month free (also available through some cable providers).
