I want the photo I use to message people on facebook, to be different than my facebook page profile photo. But is this possible though? I haven't found a way to do this, but is it possible?

For the record, I don't even have an avatar. I NEVER look at anybody else's. Many don't even have a picture of themselves, many times post some other BS which I couldn't care less about.

Most people absolutely do have an avatar. I don't know one person that doesn't have SOMETHING for an avatar.
And if you use FB at all, you see them every time someone posts.
OP is referring to the Profile picture that shows every time you post something. Maybe you're thinking of something else?

There's only one place to post your picture. I know what it is, it's not rocket science regardless of if you call it, avatar or profile picture or whatever.

I know people with no picture. Again, what good is it if I post something else other than a picture of me?, and if it was my picture, I would prefer not to post it. My preference, simple as that.
I assumed you did but wanted to make sure. I literally know no one that has the empty guy picture. Well, now I know one.
Point is, most people on FB already post their real name (I would assume) and that includes me. My picture doesn't matter to people that know me. To people that don't it matters even less. I think you get the picture (pun intended) plus I am not photogenic, I don't like to take pictures, maybe lack of self esteem?
