That's some funny stuff right there.

Yep the Dems have done such a good job here fighting for the working people that they are leaving the state in droves. But who cares if families get taxed out of home as long as the pols and govt unions get their fat pensions and other benefits. Good job. Can't wait to see what they do nationally.

I got a nice $1200 check. It helped people struggling from the Covid19 recession or in my case paying the $7.5k property tax bill from the "party of the working people." Their relief program to covid can be summed up as F-YOU PAY ME!! The Democratic Party is like the dog turd pile you have to walk around on the sidewalk that noone wants to clean up after it.

Of course I don't know what will happen, but I've been steadily moving more and more investments into foreign stocks. The reality is the US economy is not doing well at all and victory over coronavirus is nowhere near. Alternatively, there are plenty of other nations that have already moved forward. So long as we're not fully productive, there will be shortages, and an emphasis on dividing fewer spoils fairly as opposed to getting more spoils will put the entire country perspective in the wrong direction.

This is where the US labor rates bubble pops...at a time where administrations are going to try and statutorily be raising it.

During my life, every Republican tenure in the White House has ended with the economy in a mess. I’m unsure what makes so many people feel a Republican president is best for business and markets?

It's the dichotomy of the real economy and the capital markets. More regulation means companies need to hire a bunch of people to comply with new regulations while paying more in taxes. More employed people filling out forms helps the economy. During Republican years, there's less new regulation and lower taxes, freeing up money to be paid back to shareholders.

Honestly, a back and forth is healthy for the country overall....but a tip into socialism means some things won't flip back out. Conversely, the fear that government won't ever be able to expand if something good is cut really isn't a worry...the government has proven itself to be plenty able to grow. Shrinking is what it sucks at. Even if Trump were to do something stark, like gut the EPA altogether, the following administration would simply set it back up, likely with some renewed vigor. In this way rot is eliminated from the government...and it functions in the same way recessions do for businesses.

Trump's lowering of corporate tax rates was honestly necessary from a non-partisan perspective when you consider the rates paid by other countries. A true evening out of the table could occur if the US adapted a VAT system, but I doubt either party has the gumption for something like that.

There's also an argument that both parties participated. Really Covid wasn't Trump's fault in nearly the same way the ruinous war on terror of the W years was truly detrimental to the US. However, even there the advent of these terrible loans came with programs started by Clinton. All of them presided over growing unchecked influence of China over the US.

Every party will have to pander somewhat to their base, but at the end of the day, a vision is needed to lead. Trump has no idea how to pander to a base and the media has definitely shown what happens when you write them off. He's always been part of the elite. I would imagine he looks at us all as some sort of defective lemmings. Yet the underlying logic is there. A focus on bilateral deals would benefit the US. Increasing defense spending from our allies makes the supply chain continue to work. He's transactionally focused and his scope is not as large as past Presidencies have pretended. If you can take off the spin and the focus on gaffe's....he's not been bad and the US had extended it's growth. Unfortunately, when faced with Covid, his plan to refocus the nation on other things hasn't worked...but frankly that would have wrecked any President's agenda.

It would have been amazing to see what he could have done had he had fewer skeletons and a better relationship with the media.

Maybe Dems should stop sabotaging the economy in order to win an election?
