Just picked up more shares of DCRC @ 10.90 before the merger vote tomorrow and potential listing on NASDAQ later this week (if the merger is successful).
I'm taking some money off the table today. I've had a good run in EXPO (Exponent -- formerly known as Failure Analysis Associates). It is a specialty engineering/science/scientific method-based consulting company. It has been around a long time, and I first invested in it during the later 1990s (they had recruited me to join the company; I decided not to, but I admired the company). I don't see anything wrong with EXPO; I just want to reduce my exposure and want to take my profits this tax year.
EXPO's economic earnings and its Return On Invested Capital (ROIC) both are very attractive:
Is Dominos Pizza (DPZ) is one of my biggest disappointments. I bought it at about 13 back in 2007, and then sold it for a loss in 2008 as part of tax loss harvesting. Hindsight is 50-50, but I missed this one.
But is DPZ still a buy?
It has performed admirably for its shareholders (sadly, I was not one of them):
DPZ's economic drivers are impressive, with an exceptionally strong ROIC:
Its P/E of over 39 implies the market expects substantial growth, and its Beta at 0.5 indicates a decided lack of volatility (good thing), yet the short interest above 3% is a bit higher than what I would expect:

While I understand your point, we won't know for another 5 to 10 years. Daily fluctuations are not part of the calculus of long term investing.
We do know you can take profits at any time. Adding shares to trade along the way in your cores always helps with risk in volatile stocks. As far as the long term goes this is NVDA.
