I'm having trouble filling an IT position in Algona, IA. Does anyone know of someone who is in the IT field and is currently looking for work as a Systems Engineer (must have VMWare, SAN and Cisco experience)? The position is in Algona, IA. Or does anyone have any suggestions as to where a better place would be for me to search for possible candidates?

Thanks for your help!

Best,
Amanda

I'd suggest searching somewhere that isn't Algona. I would imagine that the talent pool of qualified Systems Engineers in the city of Algona consists of precisely zero people. Try Minneapolis, Sioux Falls, Rochester or Des Moines.

I live in Florida and some recruiter was trying to get me to relocate to somewhere in Iowa a few months ago, I think it was Sioux Falls. The thing is, it was a term job, pay sucked, terrible benefits, etc. After I stopped laughing, I told the guy no. I am employed but "always looking". Is it really that bad out there now? I thought it was pretty ballsy for the guy to even approach me about it, considering he knows my existing employment status and pay.

I've got zero firsthand knowledge on success rate, but isn't Dice.com what you looking for?

You want dice and linkedin, and some patience finding someone interested in a more remote area than the city hubs.
