Yeah I guess there is ease in forcing your women to dress like a garbage bag and beating them for speaking to non family member men. So much peace and tranquility there.
This is far more political than it is religious. It's a common misconception that Islamic women 'dress like a garbage bag.' What you're referring to is more of a political stronghold under a guise of Islam that is seen more often under extremist political regimes, i.e. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq post-invasion.
What you saw in Iraq pre-invasion, for instance, wasn't every woman 'dressed like a garbage bag,' but rather, nearly 50% of women wearing the hijab and nearly 50% without covering at all. In short, it was a choice.
The same is true throughout Lebanon, Jordan, UAE etc.
I won't say that there aren't gender issues within Islam because quite frankly, there are plenty within the Bible as well, but I think it's important not to extend misconceptions we have in regards to the Middle East/Islam.
I can only speak from personal experience. I have known a few Muslim girls. who were fine until the great Hijab thing started. They never showed the slightest inclination to wear the thing until pressure was put on them to do so.
I can't speak for all of them, of course, but that there is pressure to dress up like they were something to be ashamed of is fact.

Nari,
Just as I ask ANY Christian... Why do you believe in a world with more than 700,000 organized religions, would you believe yours is the right one?
In reading the Quran and the Bible, aren't you troubled by the fact that there are stories within both that have been predated by the same stories in other religions which CAME FIRST? Why didn't God come up with original ideas?
Does it bother you that scientific realizations many years later have made "God's words" in some chapters/surrah's entirely obsolete? And you believe God had his hand in it?
Quite simply: Just like Christianity, Islam has NOTHING to do with God/Allah.

It's pretty clear that English is not your first language and I have to say well done for being able to speak it better than I can speak Urdu or Arabic or whatever your first language is, but it really is hard to penetrate what you are trying to tell us.

On the contrary, the truth is opposite to your words.
I tell you how is that:
God is the same that revealed the Torah to Moses, the Gospel to Jesus and the Quran to Mohammed.
So God's religion is the same: to worship God alone without associate and to abandon the idolatry. [And this is in fact the First Commandment: that God is One without any associate]

God commands us with the same commandments of all the apostles since Noah and the apostles after him.
The Quran confirms the Ten Commandments and the Torah and the Gospel concerning the monotheism, and it came to correct many distortions that occurred in the past heavenly books.
