With the exception of gun control and the 2nd Amendment, I think Bill Maher is spot-on. I agree absolutely that Islam is at the same stage that Christianity was 600 years ago.
I'm not sure if the NRA's stance on granting easy access to guns for those on the No-Fly list is positive, but I'm betting it's not. Who says they always support anyone or indeed everyone, getting unrestricted access to firearms?
Frankly, as a Federally Licensed Gun Dealer, (FFL) I'd want to know if some guy is a known or suspected terrorist, or if he even just held anti-American or Anti-Canadian or anti-Westerner ideologies, and wanted to "kill the infidel!" Let's not pigeon-hole the NRA, OK Bill?
As for his as usual corrosive thoughts on religion: right on Bill. You the man, Billy!
Bill is one of those guys that I have a love/hate relationship with. He is correct though about Islam. It is not as peace loving as many would have you believe. The fact is (as Bill pointed out), when was the last time the Pope called for the head of all Westerners who made fun of God? I am talking about in the here and now, not back 500 years. It seems like almost every week, I read or hear about another Imam calling for the death of Jews, Chrisitians, or any other person who is not of Muslim faith.
imamway: "[M]edia war against Islam"? And may I ask who is giving them their ammunition? There was no "media war" before 9/11. You guys really know how to make friends and influence people. Uh-oh, I feel a fatwa coming on. Shouldn't have said that!
