Jackson Jambalaya: Decision Time for St. Paddy's Day Parade

One of the few remaining events and it is a huge draw.

I know several people who say it wouldn't hurt their feelings if the parade went away. I haven't been in quite a few years it just turned into a crap show.

It draws a lot of people (who normally otherwise wouldn't come), with money to spend, into the city. City leadership needs to figure out how to separate middle-class suburban dwellers from their money. Birmingham, Memphis and similar cities have done this (obviously Jackson is much smaller - with less to offer and in worse shape than those cities). At some point, we have to stop being the victim and start being the victor.

What does that even mean? It's a parade, it's always been a parade. What do you think has changed?

People breaking into the barriers. That's what the organizers are asking for. They're asking money to buy locking barricades to keep people back.

You certainly seem to fall victim to the anti-Jackson outrage quite frequently and quickly. You obviously didn't even read the JJ article.

Update

https://www.clarionledger.com/story/...in/4232162002/

Malcolm White is full of himself, but he has personally put more of his own money in Jackson and created more jobs for residents than most of Jackson's leadership.
