Ok, not really taken in Jacksonville but we've got a lot of these up here as well.

Caught this shot yesterday in the Banana River in Merritt Island.

Whoa! That pic is the most beautiful I've ever seen of Jacksonville at night! I love how the Friendship Fountain makes the Main St Bridge purple! This pic is amazing!

Nice photos, but this does not give you a REAL idea of what Jacksonville looks like.
Perhaps I'll post a few myself.
All of these photos are taken from exclusive neighborhoods, where if you and your husband aren't practicing physicians at Mayo Clinic, you are a nobody.

Sorry, but this really isn't what the MAJORITY of Jacksonville is about.

Yes, the bridges are pretty at night, but that's for tourists to look at.
We DO see plenty of dolphins in the St. John's River, that's for sure.

Depends on how you define "Ghetto". I live in a lower income neighborhood, and we get along just fine. No one out to mug you, no gangs. Just a peaceful, Arlington neighborhood.

St. Augustine. We are very happy it doesn't look like
South FL - and that's a good thing
Yeah, Amelia Island sure is pretty, but it isn't really Jacksonville. I grew up here, was born in St. Vincent's hospital in 1955, went to Sandalwood HS,
remember when Regency Square was built, I remember when Beach Road Chicken dinners was THE place to eat on Sundays, and I remember when
mayor Hans Tanzler consolidated Jacksonville.
Amelia Island isn't part of the original core of Jacksonville. Sure is pretty, though.

The pictures that have been posted are exactly what Jacksonville looks like, to the person that took the picture. Maybe not to you, probably not to you if your socially or economically depressed. As I am sure your photo's will bear little resemblance to what Jacksonville looks like, to some of us in here. Yea the bridges are pretty all lit up, but its not for just the tourists as you claim. But for anyone who cares to take the time to actually go see them at night when they are all lit up.

BTW just about all of jsimm's Photos were taken from a boat and the majority of mine were taken in one of the many public park's Jacksonville is proud of

I can hardly wait to see what "your" interpretation of Jacksonville is, as none of the pictures I have posted have been of exclusive snobby areas as you claim. Just things everyday Jacksonvillians can see any time of the day.

BTW There is only one way to define ghetto its as follows;

definition of ghetto by the Free Online Dictionary ...

ghet·to (g t) n. pl. ghet·tos or ghet·toes. 1. A usually poor section of a city inhabited primarily by people of the same race, religion, or social background.

Arlington has no ghetto area. It does have poor area's and area's of "hood," with all that implies including gangs and muggings. Peaceful Arlington neighborhood's are becoming rarer each day. In fact the only remotely "ghetto" area I can think of is the inner urban west side of Jacksonville near Beaver St and McQuade St. including the Lackawanna area. And even that's not ghetto as its not crowded enough.
So go ahead and post your pic's, we are waiting! Meanwhile here's one of my favorites of Jacksonville. In fact it is set as my Desktop Background.

A poor section of a city is essentially a ghetto. The same can be said for the inner urban Northside of Jacksonville (where I came up) from the numbered streets on the east and west sides of 95 to the Moncrief area, Norwood Ave/Golfair Blvd on up to NW Jax
