Sometimes I think that just about everyone I've ever met in Florida was born in New Jersey - or has lived in New Jersey at some point in his/her life - or has family in New Jersey. What about those of you here?

On my part - I lived in Cherry Hill (then known as Delaware Township) - near Philadelphia - from about 1959-64. I danced on American Bandstand once . My husband lived in Bergen County for about 10 years (most of elementary and middle and high school).

I've never seen Jersey Shore - but have read about it. Is that what people in New Jersey are really like these days? Robyn

Just moved down from North Jersey although I'm originally from Trenton.

In answer to your question regarding the Shore, well, people from NJ aren't all like that but most of the people down the Shore are like that. I spent a LOT of time in Seaside (when I was younger) and that's about what it's like. Still is like that from all reports from my younger friends.

I grew up In Point Pleasant Beach... on the Jersey Shore... people from there are nothing like the show.. remember most of them (Snookie, The Situation et. al) are from North Jersey or New York.
Those of us who are from the Shore( not Bennies) are a pretty laid back bunch. We probably had more in common w Jax Beach(Fletcher HS) than Edison NJ

My mom is from Alachua County and that side of my family has been In FL since 1820. My mom would tell people in NJ she was from Florida and the next question was usually "but where are you REALLY from"
