Greetings!

My husband and I are relocating to Jacksonville in 30 day's(career change for my husband) and was wondering how the area of Jefferson Ave is in Orange Park? I've been searching for a few places and the place i found that i like is on Jefferson Ave.

Now for the question that most people ask on this forum: Is Jefferson Ave a safe area? How's Orange Park? We sadly won't be able to take any time off to visit the town itself, so we are sort of moving without seeing with our own eyes, i've done plenty of research and know that northside of jacksonville ins't too great, but i also read that Southern area of Jacksonville is alright(Orange Park, etc).

Any input would be great! thanks.

[mod cut-threads merged]

My husband and I decided to go with the place we found on Jefferson Ave off of blanding blvd(?). Seems like a nice area(Street View via google <3), think our only concern will be the traffic issue on Blanding, hopefully it won't be too bad. Just a shame we won't be able to visit the area before we move.

Jefferson bisects Blanding -- which side of Blanding will you be living (western side or eastern (lakeside)?

That area of Blanding isn't bad traffic-wise. Plus all the basic stores you'll need are right in that area. Regarding your commute route, depending on where your husband will be working, there may be ways to avoid the congestion at the Blanding/I-295 intersection.

Not sure about what side, not super familiar with the area yet. We'll be living on Jefferson Ave off of blanding. looks like from what i can tell of the map it will be South of Blanding Blvd,

EDIT- I zoomed in more on the map looks like we are on the corner of San Francisco Blvd on Jefferson Blvd lol. streets seem confusing in this area hehe =D

had to look. that area of OP/blanding is better than further up north. I still try to avoid blanding.....I drove it a few weeks ago when i was heading for Academy Sports which will be a bit north of you.

Not a terrible area of OP I don't think.

Thanks =)

Do you only try to avoid Blanding because of the traffic? Because if Traffic has to be our only worry thats not too shabby, we have bad traffic here in Shreveport,LA lol.

By the way i failed to mention in my original post of the area we'll be moving too is(Zip Code): 32065

Edit- Just saw a form post on area code 32221. I read it's not such a great safe area, so i think i'll cross this apartment off the list for now. If anyone happens to know of any good apartments in safe area's, I'd greatly appreciate it.. our price range is slim, our max is 750 a month. :/

(I Apologize for double post)

We decided to keep looking, the apartments we found seem a bit sketchy (came across some reviews, bad reviews) Since we are moving there without seeing the area first we have to rely on reviews for apartments. :/

I did come across
Chaffee Pines
zip code being 32221

Does anyone have any info on these apartments? they seem really nice but i wasn't able to find any reviews on them.

thank you in advance for all the help! =)

Greetings! Sorry for another post, i just have so many questions about all the area's of Jacksonville. =) (mostly if they're safe or not)

Is anyone familiar with Old Kings Road S? Zip code is 32217.

Also if anyone has any time could you offer some suggested zip codes of safe areas/good apartments? At times i'll have to take public transportation home at night and i wanna make sure we move to a safe area,if it comes down to me having to do that. Safty is a main issue for when it comes down to apartment hunting for my husband and I.

Thanks again, really appreciate it. It will help a bunch being able to gather all this information and also being able to find the right place so when we move we will have a place.

(job relocation in case i didnt mention that and unable to visit)

32217 is an alright area. It's nothing spectacular but it's half decent - just say away from Philiphs Highway and keep closer to San Jose BLVD.

32257 NORTH of the I-295 is good too. Maybe look into an area called the "Moorings of San Jose"

32244 where Collins Rd gets close to Blanding there are some half decent apartment buildings. Gotta admit tho, apparently they've painted them over the past while and good lord what a horrible choice of colors!

If you zoom in on 32246 and 32256 you will notice there is a road called "Gate Parkway" there's some nice apartment complex's and condo's on Gate Parkway that I know of in the 32246 section. Especially in this area where it gets close to Southside BLVD.

Hope this helps - here's the site I was using so you can reference what i've said...

Also - there's some half decent apartments across from the Islamic Center of North East Florida. As to what the schools would be like and such in that area... no idea. I ain't got kids so alas, can't help in that department.

Chaffee Pines is... eh..... eh.... half and half.

traffic mainly. honestly there is alot along blanding I just don't use. When I shop I can hit areas by my house. If I want to go to Fleming Island I can cross blanding and avoid it. Really the only times I have to drive Blanding is for a short stretch to go to Orange Park Mall or if we have sporting events over in that area of Orange Park.
