Any one know if there is a program that helps with child care cost? My husband and I make too much to qualify for the CCAP. I thought there might be programs to help teachers??
Thanks!

All the asistance money / programs that were available several years ago ceased to exist when the State of Florida budget revenues nosedived with the economy.

I know there's still assistance available.

Call the Fleming Island Worksource, for example, and ask about child care assistance.

Also, I believe the Salvation Army also provides assistance, pending eligibility

Only thing I know of (other than maybe some churches helping) is the VPK program. If your child is (I believe) 4 or 5 (and about to enter kindergarten), the state has a program for them to learn. It's a half-day program so it effectively cuts your costs in half as the state pays the childcare provider directly for the VPK program--they're required to teach a specific curriculum.

It's only for during the school year I believe.
